THE WAYFINDER: Two-Person Emergency Load-Out

THE WAYFINDER is a 72 hour survival kit built for two people facing an evacuation, power outage, severe weather event, camping emergency, or other extended disruption. Instead of sourcing each category separately, you get a prepared load-out covering shelter, hydration, food, first aid, tools, lighting, hygiene, and communications.

This two person survival kit is built around the basic problems you may need to address during the first three days of an emergency: protection from the weather, access to water, food, first-aid supplies, fire, communication, lighting, and carrying essential gear.

Shelter and Weather Protection for Two

THE WAYFINDER 72 hour survival kit includes a two-man A-frame tent, two-man sleep bivouac, two heat-reflective blankets, two heat-reflective ponchos, two pairs of tactical gloves, two pairs of ANSI-rated tactical goggles, and two pairs of merino wool socks.

A waterproof 55L PVC rucksack carries the load-out, while the 5L dry bag provides additional protected storage. Two N95 dust masks and a high-visibility survival bandana round out the protective gear.

Water and Food for an Emergency

Hydration deserves careful planning in any 72 hour survival kit. THE WAYFINDER includes two 1L single-wall stainless canteens with cups, twelve 4 oz MayDay emergency drinking water pouches, a water filter straw, and six Aquatabs.

The twelve water pouches provide 48 ounces of packaged emergency drinking water. The canteens give each person a reusable water container, while the filter straw and Aquatabs provide additional options for treating suitable water sources according to their instructions.

For food, this two man survival kit includes two MayDay 3,600-calorie emergency rations, for 7,200 listed calories of packaged emergency food.

The fire section of our 72 hour survival kit includes a ferro striker rod, lighter, and four lengths of jute fire twine. A gas burner stove is also included. Fuel is not included.

First Aid and Field Tools

The first-aid section contains 20 assorted adhesive bandages, bandage tape, a bandage, tourniquet, 10 alcohol pads, tweezers, six cotton swabs, six safety pins, and medical scissors.

THE WAYFINDER also includes a hammer multi-tool, tactical folding shovel, folding multi-tool knife, 100 feet of 550 cord, wire saw, foldable saw, fishing kit, sewing repair kit, mil-spec can opener, signal mirror, 10 feet of bolt duct tape, two 12kN carabiners, cable ties, Ranger Bands, and an all-weather notepad.

The survival bracelet in our 72 hour kit combines 550 cord, a compass, fire striker, and whistle. The included pocket survival guide provides a field reference when internet or cellular service isn’t available.

Lighting and Communications

A two person survival kit also needs equipment for lighting, signaling, charging, and receiving information.

THE WAYFINDER includes an AA flashlight, two red glow sticks, a solar USB/USB-C 20,000 mAh charging brick with spotlight, and an AM/FM/NOAA radio with solar and hand-crank charging.

The communications section also includes a Baofeng UHF/VHF two-way radio. Radio users are responsible for following applicable FCC licensing, frequency, and operating requirements before transmitting.
