THE FIRE STARTER

This professional-grade survival fire starter kit is a must-have for hikers, campers, or emergencies. The Fire Starter contains ALL the essentials to start a fire in any conditions.

Don’t overlook the importance of fire craft as part of your survival plan. Being able to start a fire isn’t just about warmth and light. You need fire to cook, purify water, deter predators, and send rescue signals. With our kit, you can produce fire on demand.

What’s in the Kit

Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a new prepper, The Fire Starter is an essential tool for any outdoor adventure or emergency scenario. The LIMA-TANGO Survival brand ensures the highest quality and durability.

Here’s what comes in The Fire Starter kit:

1 portable case. 5 different tinder options. 1 fuel option. 2 ignition sources. Contents are vacuum-sealed to prevent moisture contamination.

  • LIMA-TANGO Survival Orange Plastic Case: Waterproof and lightweight, this handy case is easy to carry and place in your pocket, EDC, or backpack.
  • Fat Wood (2): Rich in natural resin and sap, fat wood is a tinder that lights rapidly and reliably, even when wet.
  • Jute Twine (2): Use jute twine to make a nest that easily catches a spark from your ferro rod.
  • Fire Tape (6’): This reliable emergency fuel source burns slowly and steadily.
  • Fire Cube: Our fire cubes ignite easily and provide a controlled, consistent burn.
  • Fire Plug (2): Designed to easily catch a spark, the fire plugs in our survival fire starter kit are compact and dependable.
  • Tin Foil: Use as a dry base or makeshift wind shield.
  • Ferro Rod: Reliably produces sparks in all weather conditions.
  • BIC Lighter: A classic standby for producing an open flame instantly.
  • Magnesium Tinder Shaver: Produce highly flammable magnesium shavings that can be ignited with sparks from your ferro rod.

The Importance of System Redundancy

The value of our field-grade kit stems from how each single element interacts as part of a complete, unified system. System redundancy means having multiple backups for your backups. If one option fails, you have another. And another.

Whether you’re dealing with water or wind, The Fire Starter kit offers a layered, multi-tier approach that lets you handle whatever conditions and environments come your way.

  • Tier 1: In optimal environments, a lighter and wood are all you need to get a fire going with little to no hassle.
  • Tier 2: In difficult environments where ignition with an open flame isn’t viable, spark generation lets you build a fire.
  • Tier 3: In dire scenarios when all fuel options are saturated, the magnesium shaver lets you create a chemical accelerant that forces stubborn fuels to ignite.

This kit doesn’t only include everything you need. We meticulously designed this survival fire starter kit to include multiple redundancies. Each component serves a specific purpose, and they work together synergistically to adapt to virtually any emergency scenario that could arise.

In any survival situation, fire is a non-negotiable. You gotta have it. The fire kit from LIMA TANGO is such an awesome piece of gear. Its compact and filled out the brim with different ways to start and sustain fire. This incredibly affordable kit is as much a great addition to your own kit as it is a GIFT to someone you love who is also into camping, the outdoors, or preparedness. One of my favorite features is the LT-branded lighter as it is a reminder that not every fire has to be started from a single spark.

Great kit and an awesome add to your gear.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start a fire when it’s wet outside?
Find a dry area under cover where the rain hasn’t sodden the ground. Form a small platform out of the rain to keep your fire off of the ground. If your tinder gets wet, use a utility knife to shave away any dampened areas.
Is this a stand-alone kit or do I need to add it to an existing kit?
The Fire Starter comes with its own waterproof case to keep in a car or backpack in case of emergency, but is small enough to add on to a larger emergency kit.
Can I use this in an indoor emergency?
Only set fires in well-ventilated areas. Smoke inhalation and breathing carbon monoxide adds another hazard to an already dangerous situation. If you need a fire indoors, ensure that there’s a way to ventilate the and direct smoke out of the room.
